Our organization is built by people and great teamwork. We are a truly global company, and we believe in the advantage of diversity. Here at Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE), we are motivated by the idea that with imagination, hard work and innovation we will lead the way towards developing a world that is cleaner, smarter, and more connected. • Support supplier base resilience by collaboratively managing supplier risks and crisis (visibility via cases management, supplier recovery plan requests and follow up with efficient communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Efficiently escalate as needed. Management of end-of-production requests by suppliers or detrimental relationships/stalemates)

  • Engage in continuous improvement with suppliers as they present themselves (capture and champion supplier cost improvement ideas, work on volume consolidation per segment, plan and execute supplier phase outs …)

  • Implement and manage unique aftermarket suppliers’ contracts (mapping, planning, implementation / renewals, control, execution, feedback)

  • Support compliance (eg. regulatory, business requirements onto our supplier base …)

  • Engage and contribute to functional strategic direction and initiatives (“Build Tomorrow’s Purchasing”)

  • Manage cost with a “TCO mindset” (increases and decreases, MOQs, commercial packaging, branding, EDI implementation, tooling investments / takeover, logistics …)

  • Promote and work with suppliers on sustainability requirements / initiatives

  • Support Volvo’s supplier code of conduct

  • Other tasks (special projects / initiatives upon assignment)

  • Use the purchasing tools to drive continuous improvement in supplier Quality, Sustainability, Capacity and Cost (QSCC).

  • Research supplier invoice discrepancies versus VCE established pricing, document and take appropriate actions with the supplier and Commodity managers as required.

  • Suggest educated sourcing changes to the commodity buyer/manager

  • Be involved in the supplier selection and implementation as part of the commodity team

  • Evaluate suppliers in accordance with the Volvo processes

  • Work closely with and support the SML group for appropriate related activities
