The purpose of this position is to work within the Maintenance Engineering group to improve equipment reliability by increasing time between failures and repair time. This position will work to set up standards for the maintenance processes, such as, standardized maintenance procedures. The Maintenance Engineer will also be responsible for setting strategies for the replacement of components taking into account the life span and equipment / machine utilization. This will also involve the capital investment and project management. The position will work with the I-Maint System, Office 365, Power BI or other derived spreadsheets to analyze equipment failures and to look for trends in equipment failure. This position will be involved in equipment analysis to determine the best method of maintaining the equipment given the equipment use and developing either time based maintenance procedures, predictive maintenance procedures, such as, condition based monitoring and/or break down strategies and the follow-up to ensure that the methods are giving the desired result. This position will be required to work cross functionally with maintenance, production, utilities, facilities, services and other technical groups to reduce equipment failure frequency. This position will work within the VPS FA and WCM methodology.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for equipment documentation and updating drawings, as needed, for modifications

  • Specify and quantify recommended spare parts by creation of spare parts ledgers and working with Central Stores, as needed, to ensure parts. Work with Central Stores on replacement of obsolete parts

  • Check the data of emergency work orders to execute plans to address any issues

  • Participate in EWO meetings for area of responsibility to help drive to root cause

  • Generate monthly reports, as needed, for maintenance engineering activities and KPI’s of area of responsibility

  • Work closely with Suppliers to improve equipment up-time

  • Open, lead and resolve Kaizen to eliminate root-causes (triggered by major offenders, 80/20 rule and Cost D. )

  • Support and perform Kaizen projects, as related to Maintenance Engineering

  • Provide technical support to Maintenance on repairs of equipment in emergency situations

  • Give support, where required, to create OPL’s for Autonomous Maintenance

  • Maintains and updates the plant equipment standard by working with various Maintenance Staff Members

  • Perform design work to reduce equipment weak points

  • Must be able to work any shift to reach group objectives

  • Instruct and manage hourly employees on Maintenance Engineering Projects and CBM activities

  • For Mechanical position able to design equipment improvements at a high level using 3d cad software.

Minimum Education Required:

  • Electrical Position

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with four (4) or more years of experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment with knowledge of industrial automation, robotics, controls.

  • Associate’s Degree with eight (8) years of experience of the same mentioned above.

  • Mechanical Position

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with four (4) or more years of experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment with knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical design experience using solid modeling methods work;

  • Associate’s Degree with eight (8) years of experience of the same mentioned above.

  • Preference given to past maintenance reliability engineering experience.

Minimum Years of Experience Required:

  • Four (4) years as Maintenance Engineer, experience required with educational requirements

  • Eight (8) years of Maintenance Engineering experience required without educational requirements

  • Other Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

  • Proficient English communication: written and verbal

  • Proficient in AutoCAD

  • CMMS / ERP

  • Production Systems / Lean

  • Vibration Analyzer systems / Thermographic analysis ( cam. and software
